fall in line

With only a week left until Thanksgiving, I figured it was time to figure out the plan for my fall table so I could check it off my list, and um, actually have a thoughtfully put-together table for Baby W‘s first Thanksgiving.  I was originally planning to go with a burlap tablecloth and go pretty neutral since we already have the bright cranberry walls going on, but then I ran across the perfect Cynthia Rowley tablecloth at Home Goods.  And I heard music.  Seriously.  Red.  Gold.  Paisley.  Need I say more?!  Woohoo.

It goes perfectly with our dining room curtain/chair seat fabric.  I just love it.  And using something with the colors we already had in that room meant I already had some things to go with it.  Double-woohoo.

I already had the golden chargers (bought close to 10-ish years ago from Ross-Simons when they carried tableware), the red napkins (from the Williams-Sonoma Outlet and then monogrammed), and the creamy white plates (our everyday plates: Emma from Pottery Barn).

I found the adorable little paper mache gourds from Jo-Ann a few months back and knew I wanted to use them for the centerpiece, though I was originally thinking I was going to give them a little color.  But, once I had the tablecloth out and tossed them onto a dough bowl down the middle with a few fake leaves (left over from the fall topiaries), I decided to leave them naked.

But, then I was stuck.  And luckily, Michael’s mom came to the rescue again.  She had these awesome natural chargers and the great fall accent plates (Royal Stafford) and helped me pull it all together.

I couldn’t decide between the round charger above and the larger rectangular charger below.

So, I photographed the table using all round chargers.

And, then all rectangular chargers.  In hopes that would help me decide.

But I still couldn’t decide.  So, I took a few more with a mix of the round ones for the side seats and the rectangular ones for the end seats.

And I think that is my favorite.  With the mix of chargers.  But, I’m still not totally decided.

What do you think?  Do you like all round, all rectangular, or a mix?  Are you ready for Thanksgiving?
